Frequently Asked Questions
About HyScoreQ. I have other questions, how can I get the answers I need?A. Please feel free to call or email us at any time. 844-497-2673 / [email protected] If you call us and we aren't able to answer, please leave a detailed message, including your name and best phone number(s) and we'll call you back ASAP.
Q. How does HyScore work, in a nutshell?A. We provide guided, goal-oriented "Projects" that tie STEM principles directly to real-world challenges and result in the creation of a real product that students can "take home". Projects are team-based, hands-on learning experiences modeled after processes used by some of the world's top companies. Project teams usually meet once per week for anywhere from 4 to 13 weeks. Each weekly meeting is called a "Session". Sessions are the same length of time each day/week for any given Project, but individual Projects have a their own unique Session length and total number of Sessions. Typically, projects designed for older students have more total Sessions and longer Session times (2 to 3 hours) than those designed for younger students (1 to 2 hours). In the summertime we offer various boot-camp Projects that have extended daily hours and run every day for one or two weeks at a time. We also offer a variety of single Session "Workshops" , as well as "Makerspace hours".
Q. Who can attend HyScore?A. For Student Projects, any student between the ages of 10 and 18 (inclusive). 18-year-olds must be enrolled in a high school program to participate in “Student Projects". Those age 18 that are not actively enrolled in a high school program, and those age 19 and over may participate in “Adults Only” Projects or “Adults Only” Makerspace hours. (Please note that safety training is integrated into all of our programs and not just part of the “Safety Workshop”).
Q. What do I need to do to enroll?A. You can sign up online by visiting our booking page and selecting an available project and start date, or just call us at 844-497-2673 and we can enroll you over the phone. Please note, if you use our online booking page you will have the option to create an account. This is a good idea as it will save you some steps for any additional future bookings. If your booking more than one student at a time, you can do it online (one at a time), or you can just give us a call - whichever you prefer.

PricingQ. How much does it cost?A. For Projects that meet once per week for 2.5 hours per Session, the average fees are about $200 per month, plus the cost of any materials needed for the Project, which can vary from $0 to $100 per Project per month. Actual pricing per Project/month is shown in the individual Project's description on our "Booking" page. If you are comparing HyScore to traditional tutoring, dedicated math programs, "tech camps” or similar programs, it may be helpful to know that HyScore projects average between $20 and $25 per hour per student - not including the added value of free access to Makerspace hours and free online tutoring (see next FAQ).
Q. What's included in the price?A. In addition to the Project itself and any required materials, Project fees include free access to Makerspace hours and free online STEM-related supplemental tutoring up to 1 hour per week (via webchat, Skype, etc.) as long as you are actively enrolled in a Project.
